In 2021, we pioneered our first trade mission to Lagos, Nigeria, in partnership with the Department for International Trade and realized we can do a lot of business with people in the makeup industry across Africa. Our Founder Eryca Freemantle Global Beauty Strategist with 40 years of experience created our very first global makeup awards in Africa and decided it must take place in Nigeria.
The participants consist predominantly of people who represent the UK, USA, and Africa. The aim of E.A.T.O.W is to create a worthwhile and valuable experience for professional makeup artists and people within the industry to enhance their careers and meet counterparts from all over the world, enabling them to potentially do business together. E.A.T.O.W is for women who desire to enhance their careers, business, and brand. Most important women seek to fulfill their purpose and a better version of themselves in this saturated market.

An International Relations degree holder, Suzie was trained by MAC Cosmetics and com- pleted an intensive Media Make-up certificate course at the Award Studio Make-up School in Los Angeles. She worked in New York within the fashion and beauty industries from 2001 until 2007, when she returned to her hometown of Nairobi, Kenya. She pursued her passion and created her authentic, affordable, high-quality African beauty brand in early 2009 and officially launched it in December 2011. She is considered to be one of the top make-up artists, whose extensive industry experience runs the full gamut from Print Media to Television, Film, Video, Commercials, Runway, and Bridal. She trains her team and mentees to run the artistry part of the business. To date, Suzie’s work has been featured in countless local glossy magazines. She has graced the covers of local and international magazines, been featured in vibrant design and lifestyle hubs, worked on numerous media houses and productions, and sponsored major beauty and fashion events on the continent.She has been interviewed by world-renowned journalists, featured in the New York Times, and dubbed by CNN as “The Face of African Beauty”. A devoted wife and a mother, her story has been profiled on countless TV and radio stations on the continent. Suzie is alsoa multiple award winner, with 30 nominations and/or wins under her belt. She has been a speaker on multiple stages both locally and internationally, as well as moderated and participated on numerous panels on various thought provoking topics. So, although her gift helps people look amazing on the outside, it's just as important to her how they feel on the inside. She's also the founder of the Ony Beauty lip color collection, established in March of 2000 which she's retired to do limited edition collections.For the last decade, Ony has used her platform and voice to bring awareness to her audience of the importance of knowing what's in the products they're using.
